Hinged Rails
If a stairlift rail crosses a doorway, we can install a hinged section so the end of the rail folds back and out of the way when the stairlift is not in use. The diagram above demonstrates how this works.
Folding Platforms
On some wide staircases and those with “fan” steps, there may be a slight gap between the stairlift’s footrest and the landing.
To bridge this gap, we can install a hinged platform which can be safely walked on and folded back against the wall when the stairlift is not in use. The diagram above demonstrates how this works.
